In IGN's Disco Elysium review, our own Simon Cardy discussed why it's one of our favorite experiences of the year, and while we can't wait to explore Revachol from the comfort of our couches, we hope the game makes its way to Switch eventually, as well. According to Kurvitz, "it's gonna be an English translation for a book that sort of started the whole thing got us the chance to make this video game-proved that the world was interesting enough and novel enough and technically well done enough." Much of the inspiration for the game's development came from Kurvitz's 2013 novel Sacred and Terrible Air, which will be published in English in 2020. Thankfully, Disco Elysium plays more like a visual novel in many ways, relying more on dialog options instead of clicking specific locations of the screen. Other similar isometric RPGs, like Divinity: Original Sin II, have made their way to consoles in recent years including a recent Nintendo Switch port for Original Sin II, but the controls can sometimes be considered by players a bit clunky as compared to their PC counterparts. No specific date was given beyond 2020, but IGN will be sure to update you when we've learned of a more exact launch date. It plays really, really nicely on a controller because you don't need to click around and give specific tactical commands, which the controller isn't very good at." So, you know, that's my message to you guys for 2020. In a message to USgamer, Robert Kurvitz, designer and writer on Disco Elysium said, "e are going to port the game to consoles so you can play on your PlayStation and Xbox. ![]()
